Blog post 2 : 6 traits for social media

Social Media has become the newest trend in marketing with companies using it to show what they are doing.  In the article “Users of the world, unite”, there was a consideration that more and more generation X who aged from thirty-five to forty-four where starting to join the social media train. They are using their social media pages to promote the work that they have done. Even though millennials’ still mostly use social media to show what they are doing or takes pics to show case the fun things that they are doing and where they have traveled too. Companies have caught on this trend and will use it as a promotional branding and they also will use it to update on any changes that they are making to the company. Many make-up companies will do this as a launch campaign and will post pictures on Instagram and twitter to show consumers what they should be on the look-out for.  


Here are my 6 tips for success with social media:

1)    Keep a few people taking care of the social media at all times- This is something that is important because people like to see consistency and like to see images or even tweets streaming every hour or even every other hour. Keep in content and make sure that it is grammatically correct. Be unique with what you are posting.
2)    Have Patience – Social media followers done appear overnight they do take time with achieving a huge following. It will take a while but with steady increasing followers people will start and come to senses what your company is all about and the traits you guys follow.
3)    Use it to improve your brand- If you unleash a new product let followers and people be able review it and give you feedback. This will create conversation and people can learn how to properly use the product or how to best use the services the company provides
4)    Compound all the social media accounts- by giving your followers a way to find all the links to all the social media makes it easier for you to research and know what they offer and how other people feel about the services and the goods from the company.
5)    Focus on sharing and be able to relate about what is going on around the world – being able to brand as a company but still being able to stay in the loop about what is happening around the world is important. And showing the support for what the company believes in is good for marketing.
6)    Be professional – This is truly important because when you have a huge following and you post things that are not professional, you can lose the following that you will have and people will stop trusting you guys as a company unless an apology will be made but that can only do so much. This is because a lot of people once their mind is made they lose trust and don’t want anything to do with the company.
