Post Modernism is the movement within the era that we will live in trying to figure out what the notion of art is.  We have all these theories of what art is and ideas but we have no true understanding of what art is. There are so many factors that go into what makes art whether it be culture, identity, history or language. These all factor in what we think of art.

In the excerpt,” Life on the Screen” the author states, “in terms of our views of the self, new images of multiplicity, heterogeneity, flexibility, and fragmentation dominate current thinking about human identity. (Turkle, pg. 178) We use social media to boost up our following and to post pictures about things we have seen or what we are doing. This gives the self and others who follow you on social media to see what you are doing and where you have been. It just shows cases your identity thru pictures. Pictures have an ability to tell a million words. We can into a period that everything we do will get posted on social media because it shows that we can blend in with other cultures but still maintaining who we are as a person.

 Instagram and snap chat both benefit from this because on both these social media sites we can post where we are and the beautiful scenery and geo tag where we are and the location this lets the people we follow where we are and see what we see thru the camera.
